SITUATION

January 4th, 2020.

After sustaining heavy casualties in the city of Chernogosk, UN forces have secured the city as well as neighboring cities and continue to push on KPA positions just short of the dense Black Forest. TF Smith in the north encounters the PLA, China's Army. Even though they are under constant attack, they continue to hold out. TF Elizabeth holds their position as TF Moon approaches Pyongyang.

January 9th, 2020. Operation Amur Tiger.

The South Korean UN led Task Force Moon enters Pyongyang while TF Elizabeth begins to establish a frontline to the west to prevent flanking. Little to no resistance is encountered. The streets are empty and the civilian populace has evacuated the city, presumed out of propaganda fear by the North Korean Government. With the only sighting of significant amounts of KPA forces, believed to be the NK Government, in the AO of TF Murphy, UN military operations ramp up in the East. TF Smith to the North continues to fight wave after wave of PLA Forces. High altitude aerial recon shows an estimated force of 500,000 bearing down on TF Smith. TF Smith is only 40,000 men.

January 12th, 2020.

TF Moon has secured the capital of Pyongyang and has begun defensive operations around the city. TF Elizabeth has established the westward front line from bridges at Nampo to along the Taedong River. TF Smith is at 50% combat ineffective, wounded are being evacuated to Pyongyang. TF Murphy launches Operation Inferno Ray, an attempt to drop US Airborne forces behind KPA Lines & attack the Black Forest & secure Bashnya Airfield stronghold from the north, in coordination with the UN Main forces to the south.

January 19th, 2020. Broken Arrow

TF Murphy fails to secure Bashnya Airfield as a result of the main UN forces being unable to break through the Black Forest. Without the main UN Forces, the 101st & 82nd Airborne is forced to hunker down in their staging areas. Devils Castle, now named OP Caesar (101st) and OP Rome (82nd) a farm near Objective Corona & Klen Hill. PLA Forces have managed to break through TF Smith and separate their remaining forces in two. The main UN Forces in TF Murphy's AO are in full halt and encouraged by South Koreans, begin to evacuate any North Korean civilians through a Red Cross encampment on Klen Hill. PLA Paras have also been reported by ROK scouts in the surrounding villages of the Black Forest.

January 20th, 2020. 2200hrs.

OP Rome is attacked and overrun by KPA & PLA Para Forces. Survivors managed to escape to a Red Cross Evac Center on Klen Hill as OP Caesar is too far. They have established a defensive perimeter as PLA Paras have been sighted scouting out the perimeter, as reported by the UN forces. Those who didn't escape are believed to have been taken to Objective Corona.

MISSION BRIEFING

January 21st, 2020. Operation Midnight Fields

We have lost contact with TF Smith, a force of 50,000 men, gone. The PLA are visible throughout the Black Mountains and surrounding forests, signaling that either the PLA eliminated them, or the Black Mountains did. Intel puts the PLA strength in our AO at 100,000. We are soon to be outnumbered 3-to-1. As the UN continue to evacuate North Korean civilians and maintain their defensive posture, we're going to move in and secure POWs before the main PLA forces arrive. ROK Forces have already been scouting Objective Corona but have been maintaining radio silence due to increased KPA & PLA Para. Forces in the area.

You're mission is to rally with the ROK scout team at a destroyed church, extract the POWs then head back to OP Caesar for extraction from our forward base. Due to the high concentration of hostiles in the AO, this operation will be taking place during dusk and night.

Intel provided by AWACS & scouts has been marked on your maps for areas that have higher than normal troop movements.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

1. RV with ROK Marine Raiders at the Destroyed Church

2. Assault Objective Corona

3. Extract POWs

4. Return to OP Caesar for extraction from the AO
